Too often, Knox County’s rich natural and social environment goes largely unnoticed by Kenyon students who, absorbed in their academic work and extracurricular life, find little time to engage life beyond the college gates. Moreover, engaging with the surrounding community can be challenging to students unaccustomed to rural life. For many, making meaningful contact with the local community is more daunting than travel to a culture across the globe.

Although some mutual misperceptions of both Kenyon students and local residents certainly persist, most relish greater contact between Kenyon College and Knox County. To promote meaningful college-community relations, a KC to KC Internship launched KC to KC, a multifaceted program designed to enable our students and faculty to engage with and contribute to local rural life.
